You’re Invited to Our Spring 2018 Trunk Show
We are very excited to share all the details of our upcoming trunk show with you! On May 3rd, from 4-8pm we will be featuring some of our favourite brands. We’ll have plenty of drinks and bites to make your shopping experience that much more enjoyable. Read on for details on our featured brands for this trunk show event!
Chloe
We’re sure you’ve heard of this French luxury brand before, whether for their enviable handbags or clothing and other accessories. This fantastic company was first founded in 1952 by Gaby Aghion and their headquarters is now in Paris, France. Chloe frames are some of our newest arrivals, and we’ve got both sunglasses and frames for your daily specs.
The round sunnies you see here are the “Carlina” that provide 100% UVA and UVB protection. “Decidedly glamorous and with a distinctive retro attitude, the Maison’s iconic Carlina sunglasses encapsulate a light, feminine and fluid mood, with a nod to vintage styling. Dramatically round and oversized, the pale gold metal frame features concentric circles that spiral around in free-flowing movement. The temple tips include Chloé’s signature drop-shaped opening for pairing with eyewear jewellery.”
We’ve got plenty of other Chloe frames for you to try on at the trunk show, each with an equally interesting story.
Rag & Bone
Founded in 2002 by Nathan Bogle and Marcus Wainwright, Rag & Bone is an American fashion label who have only recently ventured into eyewear. They are well known for their men’s and women’s clothing lines as well as accessories.
When Rag & Bone created their eyewear line with the Safilo design team, they wanted to ensure quality, craftsmanship, and timeless design. These frames feature retro shapes and classic finishes including dagger rivets, hinges, and core wire. Above all, they believe that your glasses should be a reflection of your personality. Everyone puts a different persona into the world and Rag & Bone has the frames to suit them all. Seen here are the unisex mixed metal and acetate Veska and Hawke sunnies.
MVC is proud to be the first and only retailer of Rag & Bone frames in Ottawa and May 3rd is a fantastic opportunity to try on this line!
Nikon (ft. frames and lenses)
Nikon’s first glasses lenses were marketed back in 1946 and they were also the first company to release anti-reflective coatings with built in scratch protection in 1983. Since then they have celebrated over 70 years as spectacle lens manufacturers. The Nikon lens portfolio is incredibly diverse, featuring single vision lenses, progressive lenses, anti-fatigue lenses, and computer lenses. There is truly a Nikon lens solution for any of your daily tasks.
In addition to lenses, Nikon has also ventured into the frame market. Seen here are two titanium Nikon frames which are both light and durable. Bonus: titanium frames are also hypo-allergenic.
This year a portion of all profits will be going to Harmony House, a local shelter for women and their children who are fleeing violent situations at home. Harmony House first opened in 1987 and helps provide a transitional period moving from crisis shelters to independent community living. MVC recently went to a Harmony House event and were blown away by all the great work they do. To read more about Harmony House you can visit http://www.harmonyhousews.com/
