Hi, Dave!

We have some very exciting news to share with you! We have welcomed some new Opticians into the MVC/WVC family, and we can’t wait for you to get to know them. First up, Dave! We love having Dave’s energy in the optical boutique at our Merivale location. From his first day, and in the best of ways, it has felt like he has always been with us. His expertise, calm demeanour and a great sense of humour are all reasons why after about 1.5 months with us, patients are already coming in asking for him.

Dave is a Licensed Optician from Ohio, and he moved to Ottawa in 2010 to join his wife Paula, his son Reid, and his adorable cat Ace. He brings tons of experience from working in optometric practices and has a real knack for complicated repairs. I’ve also heard him on the phone, and he is super wonderful to chat with if you call in.

Dave is super passionate about being an Optician, and just loves transition lenses and mirror-coated sunglasses. He will help you find the perfect frames for you and ensure you have the best lenses to meet all your prescription and lifestyle needs. He’s a stylin’ guy and has many stylish frames of his own. Word on the street is that he owns at least seven pairs of sunglasses!

When Dave is not wearing his Super-Optician hat, he loves to get out and hike through the woods, go camping, or host a backyard barbeque. He is a huge football fan and enjoys gaming on his PC.
