We Love Heart Month at MVC and WVC!
Welcome to February everyone! February a great month because the days are getting longer, and Valentine’s Day gives us permission to eat all the chocolate (from heart-shaped boxes to boot), but most importantly because it is Heart Month!
We celebrate Heart Month annually both here at Merivale Vision Care and at our sister location, Wellington Vision Care. When you come in for your eye exam at either location during the month of February, we automatically donate $2 from each comprehensive eye exam to The Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation!
After your exam, you get to fill out a paper heart and become a member of the Paper Heart Army. We display all the Paper Hearts in the hallway between our exam lanes and my goodness does that wall grow with love as the month goes on! To sweeten the pot, we will double the donation when you purchase two pairs of glasses. We also double our donation on Valentine’s Day. 100% of the funds raised through Heart Month initiatives support the programs, research, equipment, and innovations at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. What a great way to give back and show your support for life-saving cardiovascular care in Ottawa, all while looking after your ocular health!
I’m sure many of you out there know someone impacted by changing cardiovascular health, and how critical specialists and technology can be in saving lives. The Ottawa Heart Institute is there for our city helping with all cardiovascular patient needs right from pediatric to geriatric.
