Eye See… Eye Learn

Hi Friends! Back to school is just around the corner, so it’s a great time to think about your child’s eye health so they can see their best while learning and playing hard. At Merivale Vision Care, we participate in an awesome – and important – program for eyeglasses for your child. The program is called the Eye See…Eye Learn program, and it is exclusively for children in their junior kindergarten year and who were born in 2016. The program began on July 1, 2020, and goes through to June 30, 2021. If your child was born in 2015 and was unable to participate in the program due to COVID-19 closures, the Eye See…Eye Learn program will be extended to December 31, 2020, to accommodate them!

If your child is eligible, Eye See…Eye Learn will provide a complimentary pair of glasses courtesy of the prescribing optometrist in our office, and our optical partners Plastics Plus lens provider, and Modern Optical Canada, who provides the frames. The lenses are the safest material for kids, providing impact resistance, anti-reflection coating, scratch resistant coating and 100% UV protection. The frames come from the Modz Kids collection. There is a huge variety of styles in metal and acetate materials, in all colours of the rainbow. The retail value of the eyeglasses is $240! The glasses also come with your child’s selection of case, as well as a cleaning cloth and complimentary bottle of eyeglass lens cleaning solution. How awesome is that!?

Give us a call to book your child’s eye exam.  In Ontario, children’s eye exams are covered by OHIP once annually until they turn 20. When in the exam, be sure to ask the optometrist if your child is eligible to participate in the Eye See…Eye Learn program. We can’t wait to see you and help your child select their perfect pair.
