Celebrating Pride Month at MVC
If you’ve popped by our office early this week, you might have noticed that there is an explosion of rainbows decorating our space. Rainbows are everywhere because at Merivale Vision Care we have got a whole ton of PRIDE and we are not afraid to show it! We are so excited to kick off our celebration for the whole month of June: Pride Month!
Not only have we decorated our office in honour of Pride Month, we will also be donating $4 from each eye exam during the month of June to a local organization called Capital Rainbow Refuge. Capital Rainbow Refuge provides a safe haven to sexual and Gender minority refugees fleeing dangerous situations. They provide a compassionate and welcoming environment so these refugees can build a better life free of persecution. Capital Rainbow Refuge’s actions demonstrate the value and the humanity of the lives of people who are LGTBQ. Stay tuned for our next post, where we will share more about the amazing work that Capital Rainbow Refuge does for the LGTBQ community right here in town.
When you’re here trying on frames or picking up your new glasses, you can also pose for a selfie with one of our handheld rainbows. If you do so, we will double the donation to Capital Rainbow Refuge!
