What’s Inside Their Bags? A Sneak Peek into the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa Backpacks!
We are so proud to share with everyone that during the months of July and August we are donating $10 from each pair of glasses purchased to the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa (BCGO). This donation will outfit 210 youth in need with backpacks stuffed to the brim with everything they need to start the school year off right! We partnered with the BGCO last year for the same initiative and it was a smashing success, so we knew this year we were going to do it all again. Fancy a nose around what these kiddos will receive in their bags? Here you go!
First up are the backpacks themselves. We truly wanted to ensure that these amazing youth received excellent quality products that would last them the whole year. The backpacks are durable and styled in classic black, vibrant pink, floral pattern, leopard print, and bright blue with green, ensuring the styles are youthful, trendy, and fun!
Next up, insulated lunch bags to keep those lunches cool throughout the day. Outfitted in classic navy blue with a colourful stripe, the lunch bags are easy to find in a full backpack when it’s time to eat. Each kid will receive a water bottle too. We are also including a multitude of school supplies from binders, paper, pens, post-it notes, and pencil cases. There are many older youths receiving a backpack this year as well, so we were sure to include scientific calculators in a variety of colours that can be clipped straight into binder rings. No worries about losing your calculator when it is clipped directly into a binder!
Our friends at Transitions also provided us with some awesome swag to pop into the backpacks, such as pencils for schoolwork and a cool lightweight water-resistant drawstring bag. The drawstring bag is perfect for wet gym clothes or to keep as a backup bag in case the kids need to carry extra stuff home from school.
