International Women’s Day Celebration at Merivale Vision Care

International Women’s Day is super important to our team. We celebrate it annually by wearing purple, having fun, and supporting the amazing Zonta Club of Ottawa to give back to our community. We are a women-led local small business, and we are passionate about supporting women in our community and internationally.  

Wednesday March 8th is our big celebration! We will be donating $25 for every pair of glasses or sunglasses sold to our amazing friends and driving forces in advocating and supporting women at the Zonta Club of Ottawa. The Zonta Club of Ottawa is an organization whose mission is to empower women through service and advocacy. Zonta works hard to elevate the status of women both locally and internationally, and they have been in the service of doing so for 93 years! Zonta monitors laws and policies and their impact on women, as well as participates in hearings and public meetings with local politicians and administrators to ensure the consideration of women’s interests. Zonta also hosts speakers and panels to raise awareness about issues affecting women at the local level. The Club also recognizes community service and provides bursaries to promising young women in a variety of educational fields.
